Total Football Academy is an organization founded in 2022 to serve the greater San Diego elite competitive youth soccer community.
OUR MISSION
To prepare & develop elite athletes for
their transition into collegiate and professional realms by providing:
- Tailored mentorship & technical development
- Individual support through our coaches in the academy & exclusive international partners (such as Argentina’s national football team)
so, they can maximize their potential both on and off the field.
At the 1991 Total Football Academy, you’ll receive guidance from a team of elite coaches who possess extensive experience playing at the highest levels of professional soccer. About Coach Edgardo Masalias
We have created a method for our clients to succeed in whatever stage of their career they may be. Beginning with physical endurance continued with fundamentals and followed by technique and tactical knowledge of the game. We will not only teach you how to play but also place you in a position to flourish based on your strengths. We will also talk formations and the responsibilities behind them.
Our sessions will be in that order while also having fun and playing pickup at the end of every practice. We DO NOT train goal keepers but we can refer you to some outstanding coaches who do.

In the short time that 1991 Total Football Academy has been in existence, the Foundation has striven to develop young footballers looking to reach new heights in their soccer journey, in addition to addressing long-standing challenges faced by footballers whose families may not be able to financially and resourcefully support their football development.

- Donated $1200 towards Physical Therapy (for footballer in need) & equipment
- Donated 386 hours of volunteer time as of 7/1/2023
- Hosting a youth summer camp with world cup winning Argentine staff
(in soccer and futsal) - In the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status
- 2024+
- Increase community impact by offering more opportunities for youth footballers to attend camps/trainings (through scholarships made available)
- Increase volunteer hours by 2x the hours donated in 2023 through scalability of 501(c)(3)
- Host annual summer camp infusing global football opportunities
- Continue to promote health and education through youth soccer
